Drawing dental leadership inspiration from Napoleon Hill

The famous author, Napoleon Hill, was a pioneer when it came to personal-success literature. He is most well known for his book Think and Grow Rich and it is considered one of the best sellers of all time.
Hill paid close attention to how our personal beliefs play a huge role in our successes. He felt that if we could believe and conceive it, then it could be achieved. Hill had a way of realizing what drives successful people to be the best they can be. The following are some of his most inspiring quotes, which you can apply to your dentistry practice.
"If you can't do great things, do small things in a great way."
No matter how large or small your dentistry practice is, it is important to do the little things well. When you have a large task at hand, the best thing you can do is step back and break it into smaller pieces. Then tackle those smaller nuggets in a great way.
Using methods like this on a daily basis, you will see some very impressive results. You will appreciate that the little things are getting done correctly and efficiently, and that always makes your day go smoother.
"Set your mind on a definite goal and observe how quickly the world stands aside to let you pass."
If you get easily distracted, or you let your mind wander to many different goals at one time, you may blame the environment around you. In reality, you are responsible for achieving your own goals, and the most important way to do that is to put your mind to it, and don't let anything stop you from completing them.
Once you do this, you may see that all along you were the one going towards distractions instead of completion.
"The man who does more than he is paid for will soon be paid for more than he does."
When you have a dentistry practice you should never do the minimum and think that's okay. You may not see the return on your investment when you are just starting out, but by doing more than you're paid for everyday, you will only help grow your patient base and keep your staff happy.
This is a crucial step in success and sometimes the monetary value of what you are doing should be overlooked. You are offering a service to people who need you, and until you have put in the time, you won't see the growth in patient numbers that you strive for.
"A goal is a dream with a deadline."
When you are setting goals, you are working towards the bigger picture and achieving your dreams. And what's even better about that is you are giving yourself a deadline to work against and push yourself even further.
Setting small, achievable goals to help you get to the larger goals is the best way to find success, and don't forget to celebrate your small victories because they are the foundation of your long sought-after dream!
